The Nursery Garden occupies about 1/6 of an acre, and is laid out in a formal cottage style.  The garden has sixteen themes and the beds and borders are small enough for visitors to get close to most of the plants.

 

Ornamental grasses are used in mixed planting in all the beds and borders. Their contribution and presence are quite critical especially later in the season.   

 

A curtain of ornamental grasses screens the Nursery Garden from the drive in late summer through to winter.

 

Miscanthus sinensis cultivars ranging in height from 45 cm to 2 metres are used to good effect.
